PL LEAN Simulation Workshop Feedback
The biggest thing I took away from the course was that she was a lot more open minded about manufacturing then other people that have come in for the same type of training. In the past the external lean people seem to think that it’s a one glove fits all process but as she said on Friday, every plant is different. What works in one might not work in another and you have to modify it to suit your workplace. The overall concept is correct no matter what you are applying it too but what works for one may not work for another. Darren - Stegbar
A lot of the workshop was content we have been covering with James, it was a good refresher, one thing I hadn’t paid too much attention to previously was the cost of WIP, today I sat down with members of my team and challenged them reduce the amount of WIP in the machine/pre assembly area of the window line. It would definitely be the information about Value added activities and Value Stream Mapping. This gave me a different way to look at things that I will be making sure to apply at work. Brendan - Breezeway
